Crossroads IGA Opens in Greenbrier, TN
After over a year of planning and building, the Crossroads IGA in Greenbrier, TN opens with less than the usual fanfare. The ribbon-cutting was streamed live by a small group of city council members, staff, and office officials wearing masks and social distancing. Though not ideal conditions to open, the store was well received by the community and has already become part of the daily route for many locals.
The 11,000-square-foot Crossroads IGA, which currently employs around 45 people, is the first Crossroads to open in TN. It is also the second location for Houchens’ own QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) called Church Street Chicken & BBQ which offers southern style fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Those that made their way in on opening day — armed with shopping carts — easily found prepared deli items, packaged meats and produce, as well as a full stock of boxed and canned goods for the family and pets.
“It’s very organized,” said Natashia Martin, who was loading her cart. “It’s nice. I literally live two minutes from here so, it’s very convenient. I’ve shopped at Crossroads IGAs, and we definitely needed this.”
