Tampico Welcomes A New CEO
Tampico is a brand with an extraordinary history. In just over 25 years and against all odds, Tampico Citrus Gallon has grown to be the nations #1 selling item in the refrigerated juice drink category and a leader among juice drink brands around the world.
Founded in 1989, Tampico Beverages began with just one flavor: Citrus Punch. By the early 1990s, they had secured their first international licensee in Mexico. The company continued to add flavors and work with licensees to add new package sizes and formats; in 2014 its Citrus Gallon had become the number one selling item in the refrigerated drink category in the U.S. Tampico now provides concentrate to licensees in over 50 countries, including Indonesia.
The success of Tampico Citrus Punch gallons led to the ongoing introduction of new flavors and new package sizes.
On March 20, 2018, Tampico invited consumers to discover flavors of fun with a brand-new look on packaging, social media, and out in the world. Irresistible as ever, the goal of the new look was to bring to life what consumers already knew. With just a sip of Tampico, you’ll be transported to a fruit-filled world brimming with a mesmerizing medley of fruit flavors that leave their taste buds tickled and laughing for more.
In April 2019, Tampico launched a sugar-free product, Tampico ZERO. Available in two flavors, Mango Punch and Citrus Punch, the beverage joins the Tampico product family as an alternative for those consumers looking to limit their sugar intake.
May 8, 2020, Tampico announced that Jenny Haas has been named chief executive officer effective June 1. She succeeds Scott Miller who resigned and will be leading Essentia Water as its new chief executive officer.
In a statement, Scott Miller said: “It has been an absolute honor to be a teammate at Tampico for the last 15 years and to help guide the business with so many great teammates. I look forward to watching Jenny and the entire organization continue to grow as a company and a culture built on people being the bedrock of Tampico while staying focused on winning each day.”
“We are grateful to Scott for his leadership, vision and lasting imprint on the strong culture at Tampico,” said Jenny Haas. “Tampico’s brand, people, and customers are our greatest assets and I look forward to working with this talented team to drive continued success and uphold our rich heritage of serving consumers worldwide. I am excited and honored to lead the company during our next season of growth via new markets, alternate channels, and product innovation.”
